Driving to the Future,

Join the EV revolution .

Will Edmonds  is our first speaker in this next forum, Driving to the Future, join the EV revolution,  Will notes “Supporting new energy technologies are essential to reducing emissions. Electric vehicles, powered by renewable energy sources, will be a vital part in meeting any current, or future, emissions reduction targets. Without more support for EVs, Australia’s transport sector emissions are expected to rise by 2030.”  Will returned to University to obtain a master’s degree in Economics, with Distinction in 2018 and brings his passion for energy and sustainability to his role with BloombergNEF (BNEF) providing strategic research covering global commodity markets and the disruptive technologies driving the transition to a low-carbon economy. Planning for a energy transition will be a significant focus for global and local communities. As the world shifts  towards  100% renewables. What part will electric cars play in our future power system?

Our 2nd speaker Paul Fox, co-founder of Evie networks will share his progress in building an infrastructure platform for mobility as a service, including software, vehicles and Australia’s largest electric vehicle charging network. Recognising the importance of a shared public infrastructure Paul founded Evie an ultrafast electric vehicle charging network designed to aid in the adoption of clean and efficient transportation in Australia. The company’s network is built on highways, in cities, and in every town to facilitate the use of electric vehicles, car sharing, and autonomous vehicles, enabling users to avail benefits in terms of productivity, jobs, the balance of trade, energy security, health, and emissions.

As we recognise the need for honest energy access to fast reliable networks will be key to future clean transport.

Alexandra Kelly- Policy Manager of the Australian Electric Vehicle Council (EVC) will wrap the forum up as our 3rd speaker.  The Electric Vehicle Council is the peak national body representing the electric vehicle industry in Australia. Through her work at the EVC, Alex engages and advises governments and industry on policy development and program delivery to support transport electrification. She notes, “Transport is the missing piece of the decarbonisation puzzle in Australia, yet there is so much innovation and enthusiasm in the sector to prepare for our zero-emissions future. Electric vehicles are about opportunity and there is a lot to be excited about.” Alex has led the delivery of several EVC reports and is the National Vice Chair of Women of EVs in Australia. Prior to her work in EV policy, she worked as a teacher of ESL.
