Introducing Zara Bending, Associate, Centre for Environmental Law, Macquarie University.

Zara Bending is an award-winning lecturer and internationally published researcher specialising in criminal, environmental, and medical law with interdisciplinary inputs from criminology, sociology, bioethics, and historiography. Her learning design has been utilised at diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. 

In 2015, Zara joined the Board of Directors of the Jane Goodall Institute Australia as its youngest appointee and has since expanded her work as a recognised anti-wildlife trafficking expert of the Jane Goodall Institute Global. She routinely makes submissions to Parliament and has appeared as an expert witness before parliamentary inquiries and in criminal matters.

Join us on 15 February to hear Zara’s thoughts on how environmental law influences businesses in taking action on climate change, the imperative of maintaining species diversity in the natural world, and the role of gender bias in environmental and climate outcomes.
